- Account information: email address, password (hashed), and account type.
- Profile information: company name, technician name, skills, certifications, work history, and portfolio items you choose to provide.
- Job and bid data: job postings, bid amounts, and acceptance records.
- Payment information: payment processing is handled by Square. We store transaction references but not raw card data.
- Messages: content sent between parties on the platform.
- Usage data: log data, IP addresses, and activity within the platform.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the OnTechCare marketplace.
- Match technicians with relevant job opportunities.
- Process payments and maintain financial records.
- Send notifications about job activity, bids, and messages.
- Protect platform integrity and prevent fraud.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Technician Name Privacy
To protect technician privacy, companies can only see a technician's first name and last initial (e.g., "Alex R.") until a bid is formally accepted. Full names are never displayed to companies during the browsing or bidding phase.
5. Communication Restrictions
To maintain platform integrity and protect both parties, sharing phone numbers or email addresses in messages is restricted until a bid has been accepted. Once a job is accepted, parties are free to share contact information.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Square: for payment processing.
- OpenAI: anonymized profile data for AI job-matching embeddings (if enabled).
- Law enforcement or regulators: when required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Payment records may be retained longer as required by law.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Payment data is processed by Square and never stored on our servers in raw form. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us through the platform. You may also deactivate your account from your account settings.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
